Elder Anthony G. Smith was an associate Elder at Apostolic Revival Center in Miami, FL. He served under the outstanding leadership of the late Dr. Gilbert S. Smith, pastor of Apostolic Revival Center. God’s hand has been on Elder Smith since he was a child. It was clear that God had a purpose for Eld. Smith when He saved his life in a drowning accident. Doctors had given up hope for him, but the Lord raised him up from his death bed. As time went by he realized that God truly has His hand on him. He was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. On fire for God, he began serving in the streets of Miami with a small group of fellow church members. Preaching to the many hurting and lost souls that would pass by in the streets, he was labeled a “boot leg preacher.” Feeling the call of God and realizing he could no longer run, Eld. Smith became a minister and was ordained by Dr. Gilbert S. Smith in 2001. He received his formal Bible school training from South Florida Bible Institute in Cooper City, FL and completed his Bachelors and Master’s in theology through Parkersburg Bible College in West Virginia. Elder Smith received his B.S. in Civil Engineering at Florida A&M University and a Masters’ degree in Engineering Management from Florida International University. He is employed as a Project Manager by the City of Miami Gardens. Elder Smith has a heart for winning souls. His passion is evangelizing in the streets. The place he has described as the devil’s playground. As a strong contender for the Apostolic doctrine, Eld. Smith faithfully taught at the Inner Strength Biblical Training Center, equipping and challenging God’s people to study to show themselves approved, rightly dividing the Word of truth. He is dedicated to upholding the Apostolic Doctrine as he joyfully serves the LORD in any capacity needed. Following the teachings of his leaders, God first, education second, and a spouse last, he is the husband of one wife and is happily married to DeShannon L. Smith formerly of Virginia. They have two beautiful children, Ava G. Smith and Anthony Jr. (AJ). Following the leading of the Lord, Eld. Smith & his family joined Church of God the Bibleway, Winter Haven, FL and are under the leadership of Apostle C. A. Cowart. With conviction and compassion, Elder Smith urges the unsaved to turn to God and encourages the saved to hold on to God.
